The SS Savannah was a hybrid sailing ship/sidewheel steamer that is considered to be the first ‘steam powered’ vessel to cross the Atlantic Ocean, although she made the journey mostly under sail. It would be almost 20 years before another steam powered ship accomplished the feat. Our sour peach ale is made with Virginia peaches and blended with a Lambic-style base that spent 3 years in Spanish Sherry barrels. So in honor of the Savannah (and all things peachy), let’s hoist a pint!
Shout out to our friends David Lay and West Oaks Farm in Frederick County for providing us with over 6 bushels of fresh peaches!
Every beer off of tap will come in a new glass growler. We will not accept any growlers from home.
